In Sanskrit, Ayurveda /ˌäyərˈvādə/ directly translates to “Science of Life”.  This traditional system of Indian Medicine uses food, herbs, lifestyle and the rhythms of nature to help prevent disease, center the mind, and assist the body in natural regeneration.

The philosophy of Ayurveda proclaims the universal life force within us all manifests as three energies known as the Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. While each individual is made up of a varying combination of these energies, most people will lean heavily toward one or two; with age these proportions are likely to fluctuate in accordance with diet, environment, climate, seasons, and many other factors. The practice of Ayurveda strives to maintain balance among your particular energetic make-up, emphasizing a commitment to self-care and the awareness that lasting, sustainable change comes from the habits we build.
